Philippines was then made of several kingdoms or chiefdoms, each had a seperate government which often goes to war during times needed. Maybe from a family feud all the way to economic sanctions to religious matters. Our archipelagic topography just made the divisions worse.
Then came Don Quijote to colonize and organize the once seperate chiefdoms into one by using divide et impera. Those days made several obvious stereotyping going on, labeling such ethno-linguistic group as such, may it be applausing or deregatory.
Is it just me or have I grown tired of the bickerings, someties pissed off with such island mentality that we Filipino have. I think I posted a year ago about "digital regionalism" in which is evident in some online forums such as Pinoy Exchange and Skyscrapercity.
I have no idea when do we mature, accept and respect the differences. This country has not moved because of endless mudslinging. Whatever government type would be installed, as long as some corrupt values are still there, then progress might be hindered by parochial politics and biases against one other.
Pagkakaisa sa Pagkakaiba.
O ayan, nailabas ko isang parte ng aking hinanakit…ano naman kaya ang susunod. Hehe!!
